83. Starbucks is coming to Central America

Before I went to bed last night, I wrote a post about a few pioneering cafés in the coffeelands — like Viva Espresso and Ben’s Coffee in El Salvador — that are pushing the outer bounds of quality in the growing market for high-quality coffee in producing countries.  Then this morning I woke up to news that seems to confirm my suspicion about the potential of this market:  Starbucks will be moving into Central America in 2010, and its first stop is El Salvador.
